The Community Clinic of Rutherford County DBA
Rutherford Community Health Center originated in 2004 to provide quality
health care and preventative health education to the low-income, uninsured
individuals in our community. The
development of the clinic came as a direct result of the 2002 county-wide
assessment conducted by the members of Rutherford Hospital ’s
Community Health Council, which determined that thousands were at risk for
medical indigence. The clinic originated with the belief that all people
deserve access to health care regardless of their ability to pay. Therefore, our mission is to support
and strengthen individuals and community health by providing high quality
comprehensive healthcare services to the underserved.
- In May 2012, RCHC received the designation of FQHC Look-Alike (Federally Qualified Health Center) in the pursuit of organizational development to meet the needs of our community. This places our clinic in the esteemed company of only 33 organizations in the state ofNorth Carolina .
- RCHC is the only comprehensive provider of primary care services inRutherford

Building Information
On March 5, 2010, the Community Clinic of Rutherford County purchased the Daniels Furniture building. The building has increased clinic square footage from 1,400 sq. ft. to 13,000 sq. ft. and provided main street visibility. The new building also provides rental space to Pisgah Legal Services and Carolina Community Health Partnership. The purpose of this relocation was to expand to a larger facility wherein we could operate in a physical space large enough to meet the current and future demand for our services. It was our goal to create a delivery site for primary medical, specialty care, mental health and support services for the residents to improve their overall quality of care. The renovations and furnishing were funded through grants from The Duke Endowment, Golden Leaf, Janirve Foundation, Cannon Foundation, Sisters of Mercy, Timken Foundation of Canton, NC Rural Center, Stonecutter, funding raised through our Capital Campaign and community contributions.

Visit the RCHC website for more information. Visit their clinic if you or someone you care about needs medical help. People with insurance are usually seen in the PM clinic. They need people with insurance to come in.too It helps generate revenue to keep them in business. And caring for people's health needs is a business - an expensive one.
